"The mediocre teacher tells. The good teacher explains. The superior teacher demonstrates. The great teacher inspires."
William Arthur Ward
I truly hope that I am that great teacher who inspires you! My name is Mrs.Stafford and I am the Language Arts teacher. I wanted to take this opportunity to share a little bit about myself. I was born and raised in Elyria, Ohio and I am the youngest of 4 children. I have two sister's and one brother. My Mom is retired from education and my sister's are teachers as well. I guess you could say teaching is in our blood! I graduated from Ashland University in 2009 with my license in Middle school education grades 4-9 Language Arts, Reading and Social Studies. I was on the student advisory board and I was also the communications director for the collegiate Middle Level association planning fundraisers and professional development workshops for the students at Ashland. I did my Student teaching at Troy Intermediate in Avon Lake, teaching fifth grade Language Arts and Social Studies. I was the computer Teacher for 2 years at Durling Middle School teaching basic computer skills to grades 5-8. I tutored 7th and 8th grade students in Language Arts and Reading for the Ohio Achievement Assessment, and I taught 8th grade Language Arts Summer School at Durling Middle School. This is my fifth year as the 7th grade Language Arts teacher and I am excited to begin a new school year! In my free time, I love to spend time with my family and close friends. I am married and I have a son Nicholas, born in January 2013. I love to read, exercise, listen to music, watch movies, and spend as much time as I can at Kelleys Island, where my family has had a summer home since my Dad was a baby. I am excited for what this new school year has to offer, and cannot wait to get to know all of you!
